Applications
KOLAUT DC contactors are widely applied in electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy systems (solar and wind), energy storage systems (ESS), DC charging stations, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and industrial equipment that requires safe and reliable DC switching.
Tips: Can relays replace DC contactors?
Relays generally cannot replace DC contactors in high-voltage or high-current DC circuits.
- Current & Voltage: Relays handle low currents and low voltage; DC contactors handle high currents and high voltage safely.
- Arcing: DC contactors are designed to extinguish arcs in DC circuits; relays usually are not.
- Durability: DC contactors have longer mechanical and electrical life under heavy DC load.
- Safety: Using a relay instead of a DC contactor can cause contact welding or failure.
