Tips: The causes of soft starter SCR damage
1. When the motor starting, the overcurrent will breakdown the soft starter. It is recommended to check whether the power of soft starter matches the power of the motor and whether the motor is on-load starting.
2. The soft starter's cooling fan is damaged. It is recommended to replace the fan.
3. Start up frequently, and high temperature will damage SCR. It is recommended to control the number of times of starting.
4. The filter board is damaged, input default phase, it is recommended to replace the damaged components. There are many factors that cause this failure:
- Check whether the power incoming line and the motor incoming line are loose.
- Whether the output is connected with load, whether the load matches the motor.
- Using a multimeter to check whether the module or SCR of the soft starter is breakdown, and whether the trigger gate resistance meets the normal requirements (typically around 20-30 ohms).
- Whether the internal socket wiring is loose.
